• Database to be working on MySQL & Postgress
• Minimum 2 years of experience
• Monitor performance and manage parameters to provide optimal response to the users.
• Map out the architecture design for a planned database.
• Perform performance and query tuning.
• Install and test new versions of the database management system (DBMS).
• Control access permissions and privileges.
• Develop & manage back-up and recovery plans.
• Ensure that storage and archiving procedures are functioning correctly,
• Carry out capacity planning.
• Design and manage high availability systems.
• Manage the security and disaster recovery aspects of a database.
• Write database documentation, including data standards, procedures and definitions for the data dictionary (metadata)
• Maintain data standards, including adherence to the Data Protection Act.
• Communicate regularly with technical, applications and operational staff to ensure database integrity and security. • Establish the needs of users and monitor user access and security.
